It is very unlikely that any type of criminal charges will be brought against you. Usually when it comes to falsifying records it requires that you make some sort of false statement to the government in order for any type of criminal charges to be commenced. However, when it comes to an employment application, these situations are generally treated as a private matter. Thus, there is no real "punishment" that can be imposed against you. Of course it will obviously affect the company's decision to hire you.
