is there a grandparents law in the state of maryland, i alowed my parents take my daugther to maryland to be with them while i get a transfer from toledo ohio to denton maryland. i have custody of my daughter but they refuse to bring her back what can i legally do to have her back with me in toledo ohio where she belongs

grandparents can have visitation rights - but if they sought and were granted custody or guardianship of your daughter, you would have had to been served with notice of such a hearing. you can check with the circuit court in the county where your parents live and see if there is any matter pending or if they had filed any such documents to get guardianship. call the clerk of the court and see if they will give you that information over the phone. if the clerk will not tell you over the phone, you will need to go in person or hire someone to check it out for you.
