My 17 year old daughter, who suffers from bi polar disorder

This answer was rated:

My 17 year old daughter, who suffers from bi polar disorder and depression, ran away with the help of another teenager and her mother. Do i have legal recourse to cause the mother and her daughter to disclose the location of my child? We live in New York City.

Hello,

Thank you for your question. I am happy to assist you.

The adult has committed the crime endangering a minor.

You can consider involving the police. You can truthfully tell them that your daughter is ill. Tell them that she needs her medication if that is the truth. Explain that an adult had assisted her in leaving home and may know the whereabouts of your child. Impress upon them the seriousness of her illness and the need to find her quickly.

I hope that the information which I provided was helpful to you.

Best wishes for a successful outcome. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to submit them to me directly.

Thank you,
