Resolved Question:

I had my gas turned off in my house yesterday. I have a letter stating that if i pay $432.00 that the gas will be turned back on. I called the gas company and they told me that I owe $1,800. and they will not accept payments. I would need to pay this whole balance before i have my gas turned back on. i have spoken with numerous supervisors and they all told me the same thing. is there anything that i can do?

Gas company cannot turn off gas during winter months if there is a child in the house. Go here make complaint to PA Public Utilities Comission - they can get you hoooked up with a mediator who will negotiate with Gas Co for you:
