Can a restaraunt send a schduled employee home early for lack of business? Does the employee who was scheduled to work 4 hrs but got sent home afetr 2 get paid for the full 4 hrs?

From the IWC... "Each workday an employee is required to report to work, but is not put to work or is furnished with less than half of his or her usual or scheduled day's work, the employee must be paid for half the usual or scheduled day's work, but in no event for less than two hours nor more than four hours, at his or her regular rate of pay." -

Which at restaurant rates isn't too much....

Reply to Legal Professional's Post: Hostess/Cashier was scheduled to work 6pm to 10 pm. Due to lack of business she was asked to clock out at 8 pm after 2 hrs of work. So, does she get any reporting pay or only get paid for the 2 hrs worked. Thanks.
