can a 17 year old sign a contract with a phone compnay (sprint) for a cell phone? The people at the store told her not to worry about it
Under contract law a minor does not have the legal capacity to enter into contract. Contracts entered by a minor without a parent co-signing are not enforceable. You should report this Sprint store to your Consumer Protection Department of your State Attorney General's Office as they are misleading minors to enter into such contracts.
