Georgia is one of many 'at-rill' employment states. Although, according to this reference, there are three court-recognized exceptions to the at-will employment doctrine -- Georgia does not recognize any of them. This means that (in the absence of a written employment or labor unioncontract) the employer is under no obligation to retain an employee orto provide a reason for terminating an employee.Likewise, the employee is under no obligation to continue working foran employer or to providing reason for choosing to terminate his or heremployment. The Georgia Department of Laborwill be able to advise you as to any rights you may have regardingadvance notice of termination and payment for accrued vacation time.Let me know if you need more input. If not, thanks for theopportunity to assist you... I would really appreciate your honoring myefforts by 'pushing the button' and Accepting this answer.
