I have a 8 year old female alpaca who has chronic diarrehia. My vet says she is not anemic and is not wormy. We have tried probiotics, "sooth my Tummy" which is a homeopathic remedy putting her on a dry lot and only having hay to eat. She gets better for a few days and then it comes back. I think it has something to do with internal stress because when I separate her from the herd she gets worst. I am at a loss she is a quality animal and I hate for her to be sick. Any suggestions? I have a few quick questions for you.
Has a fecal analysis been done by your vet? Has a fecal culture been done?
Has any bloodwork been done? Any abnormalities found?
What is the daily diet of your alpaca?
How long has your alpaca had diarrhea?
Any blood or mucus?
Has she been tested for Johne's? Has she been tested for BVD?
