We live in South Fl, worm our goats regularly with Cydectin, Valbasin & Ivomek. We are now have constant problems with 2 goats having swelling under the jaw, Have given penicillin 3 days in a row and wormed 3 days in a row alternating wormers. Swelling goes down & comes right back. Don't know how to control this. Is it worms or something else. Can't find anything wrong inside the mouth.
Optional Information: Type of Animal: Goats Gender: Female Age: 5 & 6 Already Tried: listed in original comments
Thank you for your question.Have you done any fecals to establish any potential resistant worm burden present? Are the under jaw swelling distinct lumps (like enlargement of the lymph nodes) or is this bottle jaw (fluidy swelling of the whole underneath of the jaw)?Any changes to the bone of the jaw itself?Do these goats have paler gums, conjunctiva then the other goats? How are they in themselves otherwise?Weight loss?Eating/drinking?Behavior?

Are the under jaw swelling distinct lumps (like enlargement of the lymph nodes) or is this bottle jaw (fluidy swelling of the whole underneath of the jaw)? No distinct lumps it looks like bottle jaw but it comes & goes, we treated one of the goats for 4 days 3 cc's of penicillin and it went away for 6 months now she has it again 6 months later as well as another older goat.
Any changes to the bone of the jaw itself? No, gum color good, teeth good, eating well. They both are currently feeding 10 week old babbies that are in great shape.Have wormed both goats 3 days in a row alternating wormers.
Do these goats have paler gums, conjunctiva then the other goats? No
How are they in themselves otherwise?Weight loss?Eating/drinking?Behavior? Everything else is fine they are in a herd with 10 other goats
I have not heard back to my responce.
