Typically castration on male goats is done before 3 months of age. They tend to recover better when they are castrated younger and tend to do quite well. Banding can also be done and is recommended to be done in less than a year of age. Make sure that the goat is also vaccinated at the time of castration (CD &T) to prevent tetanus.
