Are you able to connect the Aspire to your LAN ?
Yes please; connect directly with a LAN cable.
I understand and still, please try even borrow when able.
This is both an attempt of a fix and as a test before/confirm the DIY.
With a direct connection using a LAN cable, go the the Acer website and update the drivers for the WiFi card.
