Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be assisting you today.
try pressing F12 repeatedly on startup.
Is there an option for hdd/hard drive?
select that and see if it boots from it
you can ignore that remote desktop prompt
restart and do F12 again highlight hard drive and enter
do you have a flash drive plugged in?
no we dont want anything else plugged in
this a laptop/desktop?
May need to re seat the hard drive as its not being recognized, or the hard drive may have gone bad.
what's the brand and model?
yes, then pull the hard drive out and plug it back in
this will give you an idea of what your'e looking for: https://youtu.be/FMNZR_IjO-c?t=40
put it back in and turn it back on
do you have a blank CD and working computer?
do you need any information from this hard drive?
We'll need to burn a program to a CD, try to boot from that on the laptop to see if we can recover anything from hard drive.
CD will be better, flash drive doesn't work sometimes
we can't install drivers as it won't boot upyes go to desktop and download this file https://www.dropbox.com/s/j2nxhy45hdri3y6/Win7PE_x64.ISO?dl=0
its fine to run on Windows 10.
Use this program to burn the .iso file to the CD, http://www.isoimageburner.com
yes has to be downloaded to PC, then burned to CD
did you burn it to the CD?
ok put CD in the laptop and start it up
it should boot from CD, if not restart and press F12 and choose cd/dvd
try reseating it again or get a paperclip to stick in the hole next to the button to open it
even if you take the CD drive out of the laptop and push a paperclip in the hole? it should pop the tray out.
could try this program to burn the .iso file to a usb flash drive http://isotousb.com/
you can bookmark the site you're on now and come back here to continue
I'll be around through the weekend
ok sounds good
