Thank you. So when you press the button the laptop is not turning on?

The button is housed in a piece of flat plastic that runs the length of the lid,

is that piece loose at all?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
Are you a Dell technician?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
no, I don't want to switch and incure a bigger bill
Customer: replied 26 days ago.
this is redicilus, what is your answer to my problem?
Expert:  Byron replied 26 days ago.

Thank you. That's a mechanical problem. There are wires inside that connect to the motherboard

and if the solder is broken the laptop will fail to start. Those studio models are famous for switch problems.

Your best option is to have the repair done by a local shop. It would be much more expensive to

send the laptop off to Dell.

ok, thanks , will do
