There are a few different Hard drive passwords, that can be implemented.

So is the password ***** at the time you startup the computer?

I believe this password ***** ***** a windows feature, and the feature has added the encryption of the SAM hive in the registry.

Its called the SYSKEY that the windows feature envokes.

And its CERTAINLY not an easy task to remove.

In almost ALL cases, you have to REINSTALL windows, and erase the hard drive.


But i have heard of some folks using a PIAD-program to disable the SYSKEY......but have yet to see this in action.
