Hi. My name is***** you for your question and the opportunity to assist.
Did you re-install Windows 8 and now need a login password?
I'll certainly try. On the login screen does it show your email address?
Thanks. I'll need to know what the email address is. Please send it to me below.
Thank you. I'll need to know the last 4 digits of your phone number that ends in 78
and if you are able to receive text messages at that number.
Do you have access to the inbox for your***@******.***
account on another device like a phone, tablet or another computer
I just sent a text message to your 6978 phone number with a reset code.
Open the text and let me know the numbers please.
Has it shown up yet?
That won't work. Are you getting your Yahoo! mail on another device? I can
have the code sent via email.
That number will not work. The code has to go to either your 6978 phone
or to your Yahoo! email. I just had the code sent to***@******.***
Check your email and let me know the code when your receive it.
It is time sensitive.
Don't enter the code in the computer. You need to send it to me.
That code expired. I just had another one emailed to you.
Please send me the new code.
Thanks. The new password *****: Login1234
with a capital L.
Please verify that the laptop has an internet connection before
entering the password ***** the new password ***** ***** over the internet
by a Microsoft server.
Are you logged in to the laptop now?
Is the laptop connected to the internet? There's a network/wi-fi icon on the login screen.
Open it up and verify that the laptop is connected to the internet.
I've verified that the password ***** work. After you enter the password ***** try to log in what is the message
you are receiving?
And this is EXACTLY what you are entering in the password *****? Login1234
Can you sign in on this page with the new password: http://account.live.com/
Since the laptop is new is it ok to set it back to back to factory new?
This will get you back in to it.
That's talking about a password ***** flash drive. Those work perfectly except that they have to
be created before you lose your password.
Can we factory reset the laptop?
Ok. While looking at the login screen, hold down the Shift key (and keep it held down)
and click the Power icon in the lower right corner and select Restart.
When you see "Please Wait" release the Shift key.
A page should open that says at the top "Choose an Option"
On the Choose an Option page click Troubleshoot
and then click Reset your PC.
Is that the only thing on the page?
A blank page with a box labeled "Enter your password"
and no other text of any kind?
Earlier you said your email address was showing on the screen?
The password ***** not 1234
Hold down the power button until the laptop shuts off (about 4 - 5 seconds)
Turn it back on and as soon as you see the Acer screen immediately
hold down the Alt and F10 keys at the same time
for 1 - 2 seconds and release and tell me the screen that comes up.
Go to Advance Options and tell me what you see there.
Do you see anything that says Troubleshoot?
Click Reset your PC
Remove everything and install only to the partition where Windows is installed.
Great. Once it's done you set up a new account and password ***** be able to log in to the laptop
and you'll be able to use it once again.
Let me know if any issues and if you could take a moment to rate the service using the
stars at the top of the page, then submit
it would be much appreciated.
It will sit at 62% for a while but then jump up higher and eventually finish.
Wait and let it finish. Once it starts the process the only thing to do is wait.
Restart it and let me know what is happening.
You may need to do the Alt + F10 again.
