Hi. My name is***** you for your question and the opportunity to assist.

If you did a clean installation from a Windows 7 disk it won't contain all the drivers for your laptop.

Drivers should only be downloaded from an official Toshiba site.

The page at the link below contains the download links for all drivers for your model

and operating system.

Done that nothing happens
Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

I'm not sure what that means. Are you saving the drivers to a flash drive on another machine and then plugging it

in to the laptop and running the executable?

On that page there are 3 wireless drivers listed for download depending on the model of wireless adapter

that came with the laptop. (Atheros, Intel or Broadcom)

Click Start and in the Search area type: device manager and open the Device Manager search result.

Expand the entry for Network Adapters. The wireless adapter should be listed there.

If the driver is missing the wi-fi adapter may be listed under Other Devices as a network controller.

All that appears is "Realtek PCI FE Family Controller"
Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

Thanks. That's the LAN (wired) adapter. In Device Manager do see anything that says network controller

or PCI commnications device?

Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

Please only respond on this page. Opening new questions generates new charges. I had the other two

questions closed so you won't be charged for them.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
both are there in PCI Controller hen opened up says Code 28 no drivers installed.
Trying to download from USB storage device taken from desktop computer and can find all the files and load them and make changes to the laptop but nothing is happening yet.
Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

Thanks. Right click on the PCI controller and select Properties.

Click the Details tab.

Under Property use the dropdown arrow to set the value to Hardware Ids

Let me know the PCI/VEN numbers

Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

If I have those numbers I can determine which driver is needed.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
PCI\VEN-8086&DEV3B64&SUBSYS-FD301179&REV-06
-FD301179

Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

Thanks. That's Intel so on the download page install Intel Management Engine Interface

That should fix one of the entries in Device Manager.

If there is still one left I'll need to have the numbers for that one.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
please explain where is the download page or do you mean this computer?
Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

At the top of this page I posted a link to a Toshiba download page for the laptop.

Here it is again: http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/a660/psaw3a-07t00r/download?os=25

Go to that page and download the Intel Management Engine Interface

to a flash drive and move it to the Toshiba and install it.

OK got you now and done that it came up make changes to computer and I said yes what now?
Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

Install the Intel Management Engine Interface

then open Device Manager and give me the PCI/VEN numbers

for what's left.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
All exactly the same as before
Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

If you connect the laptop to your router with a network cable can you get it on the internet?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
There is no phone lines connected only wireless internet
Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

What is the exact wording of these entries in Device Manager?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
PCI\VEN-8086&DEV3B64&SUBSYS-FD301179&REV-06
PCI\DEN-8086&DEV-3B&SUBSYS-FD301179
PCI\VEN-8086&DEV-3B64&CC-078000
PCI\DEV-8086&DEV-3B64&cc-0780
Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

Thanks. Those are all Intel numbers.

If you were using just the Win7 disk you will need to install a lot of drivers.

Go to the download page and start with Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
It's going to take a while to down load all these
Expert:  Byron replied 10 months ago.

There's no time limit on this though it's after midnight where I'm at so I'll be calling it quits for tonight.

Hi. Any progress with the laptop?
