Hello and welcome to Just Answer! i am Aitizaz and i will assist you today

is there any USB device connected to the computer or any DVD in the ROM?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no dvd @ all. the only thing that's been on it isa wireless mouse.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
there is no cd or dvd on it!!!
Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

OK! The reason it is asking for a boot disk is that there is not boot file available on the hard disk from where it could load the file. Did the computer come with windows pre-installed?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
you mean windows on the pc
Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

Yes

Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

NO they don't. Some come with windows pre-installed and some with a DOS operating system.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it came with windows 8.1
Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
chose a target os windows 10
Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

OK! so basically we have no other windows on your computer other than Windows 10. The reason is that you did not actually revert to windows 8.1 in the prescribed manner. Now in your case, you need to first re-install/restore windows 10 and then revert to windows 8.1 in a prescribed manner

Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

i will let you know about reverting from windows 10 to windows 8.1 as well. please follow those instructions to revert to windows 8.1. but first install windows 10

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
how
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it was 8.1 when I got it
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
how
Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

please use the instructions in the following article to revert to windows 8.1:

http://www.howtogeek.com/220723/how-to-uninstall-windows-10-and-downgrade-to-windows-7-or-8.1/

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
how do you suppose I do that
Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

sorry, i could not understand your point.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK WHEN IT WAS NEW, IT WAS 8.1 NOW WIN 10
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
DO I NEED TO CLICK ON THE ONLY THING I CAN WITCH IS WIN 10
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OR GO BACK
Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

Because you upgraded to windows 10, all the system files of windows 8.1 were replaced with windows 10. Now you have to first install back windows 10, and then revert to 8.1

please go in the following manner:

1. First re-install windows 10 on your computer through the instructions i have already told you ( where you see windows 10 as an optionn in system recovery/image recovery options).

2. Once you have windows 10 back on your computer, please use the instructions given in the article given below to revert to windows 8.1

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
WINDOWS CAN NOT FIND SYSTEM RE-IMAGING
Expert:  aitizaz replied 1 year ago.

this indicates that some vital files have been mistakenly deleted in a manner that they cannot be recovered and used.

Hello. My name is***** will try to provide you with some additional information that may help. When you are at the reimaging point, it should have finished making the disc bootable, at least under Windows 10. If you are able to get back to that point, that's what I would suggest doing now, so you will at least have an operating system installed. It is possible that the upgrade process had made your machine sluggish, but it shouldn't be that way with a fresh install of Windows 10. In fact Windows 10 is quite a bit faster than previous versions. Please let me know if that helps or if you can, let me know exactly where you're getting stuck and I'll try to help you with it.

Mike
