Hi,

I'm sorry about the issue. When did this issue first occur?

Is the touchpad or mouse still working?

If you have an external USB keyboard, can you test connecting it to the laptop and check?

Does your laptop have windows xp, vista, or 7, or 8, or 10?

Can you press and hold the Shift key on the keyboard for about 15 seconds, and see if it works?

If the above method does not work, then please try the following fix on your Toshiba windows 8 laptop:

  1. Restart the computer and/do not sign in.
  2. Press and keep holding the Shift key on the keyboard.
(Or another way: at the password ***** login screen, click on the Ease of Access icon, then click on the Shift (or Up Arrow) key on the left.)
  3. Click on the Power icon, then click on the option Restart while still holding the Shift key.
  4. When a menu appears, then you can release the Shift key.
  5. When prompted, click on the Troubleshoot option.
  6. Then select the option Refresh your PC, and continue.

- If that does not work, please try:

  1. Shut down the laptop.
  2. Now restart the computer by pressing the power button - IMMEDIATELY start tapping the F12 key on the keyboard until the "Boot Menu" screen appears.
  3. Using the arrow keys, select <HDD Recovery> and press "Enter".
  4. On the next screen you are asked to confirm if you want to continue with recovery. Select "Yes".
  5. The computer will bring you to the Advanced startup screen.
  6. Select Troubleshoot.
  7. Then select the option Refresh your PC, and continue.
