Hi, I'm Ron. Thank you for asking a question. If you can't get the start up repair to work, do you have a set of recovery disks from Acer to restore to factory condition? If you have files on the hard drive that you must have, the drive can be removed and accessed with an external hard drive docking station and saved on another drive before restoring the system to factory condition. If you don't have the disks, you can get them from Acer.

If you are willing to have the system repaired by a certified repair depot, they can use the original windows installation disk to try and repair the start up manually first. If it fails, they could save the data for you and restore it once they do the recovery. There is a very good chance that the start up repair can be done manually with the installation disk and the recovery will not be necessary.

You can order the disks from Acer's website. If it is less than a year old, it should be under warranty.

just bought it in July thanks

They will repair that for free. You can check with the Acer website and they can give you a local certified repair depot in your area to take it to and get it done for you.
