My Dell Inspiron 1564(i3, 8GB RAM, windows 7) is having some

Customer Question

My Dell Inspiron 1564(i3, 8GB RAM, windows 7) is having some weird issues with the screen. When I'm using the computer sometimes, doing anything, just like surfing the web or something nominal, the screen will just flash white and stay like that. It also happens right after the Dell logo as well, right before the Windows splash screen.

When I hit the f1 key to toggle a different monitor or something, it sometimes goes back to its normal screen and everything is fine. I ran the diagnostic DVD that came with the CD, and all of the video stuff checks out. It also supports another monitor just fine, as well a connection to a HDTV just fine via HDMI with no problems.

I thought it might have something to do with the battery getting too hot, so I took the battery out, and the problem still pops up just fine. I don't think its the onboard video chip cause it works just fine with other monitors and stuff.

My warranty is up, obviously, but its geting to the point that it happens all the time, and its pretty annoying.

Already Tried:
It puts video through to other monitors, HDTV, and even flips back sometimes when I hit F1 to switch where the video goes through.

Cool

Sandy :

Is this under warranty?

Customer :

No, like I said in the description, the warranty is up.

Sandy :

the issue can occur if:

1 There is a loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.
2. Defective LCD screen.
3. or the Defective motherboard

Sandy :

Most probably it is due to the loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.

Customer :

Should I dissect and fix myself, or does it have to be soldered?
