compact disk is stuck in the slot. it does not eject, and

compact disk is stuck in the slot. it does not eject, and there is no icon on the screen. But I cannot insert another disk.

 



Already Tried:
The eject sign and the eject key.

Ok.

Shutdown your computer.
Hold the mouse key pushed down, and power it up.
Keep your finger on the mouse button - the CD will eject as part of the power up process.

Thank you; it worked. But I was puzzled by the words "mouse" key but I
figured it referred to the power key. I held it down for some time and out
popped the disk. But it is a puzzle that the icon disappeared from the
screen
