Trying to hook up LCD monitor S230HL to mini laptop Acer Aspire One with cable labeled RGB cable. Monitor says cable not connected. What now?
Already Tried: Tried the RGB cable that came with Monitor and bought a Belkin VGA/SVGA Video cable that was recommended by salesperson. Both won't work. Aspire One only has the VGA connection so the other cable that came with the monitor won't work. That cable is DVI.

Can you please explain if you are actually able to connect computer and monitor with DVI cable?
No, connection will not fit.
Ok. You will need to buy another cable. If your computer doesn't support DVI cable and only VGA
then you have to buy VGA cable
There is an adapter also from DVI to VGA, but I would suggest that you buy complete cable as adapter

I did buy another cable, the Belkin VGA/SVGA Video Cable as recommended by the salesperson that sold me the Acer Monitor. Monitor says cable not connected. In the Quick Start Manual that came with the monitor, first page, shows that a VGA cable was included. On the connection illistration it shows a D-sub cable connecting to the monitor. That RGB cable connection fits the monitor and mini computer but the computer will not allow me to tighten the screws. I assume that cable is the same as VGA.
