My Acer Aspire One suddenly gave me a warning that it was going into hibernation. Although, I do not remember receiving any low battery warning, I tried to immediately plug in the electric cord. That was two hours ago. The battery is not charging and I am unable to boot up the netbook.
Already Tried: Plugged into electric, pressed start button many times.
Hi,Can you remove both the charger and battery, then reconnect only the charger (without battery), then turn on and check? Is there any noise when turning on the laptop? Is there any power/light?Please let me know. Thank you.
I do not know how to remove the battery.
Turn the laptop over, then usually, slides the two notches near the top, then remove the battery on the top. Thank you.
I slid the notch on the left side. The one on right side slid back to the original position.
You have to slide & hold the right notch, then slide the battery to the top to remove. Thanks.
I removed the electric power and then removed the battery. I plugged power cord back. Nothing happened.
When you press on the power button, does it do anything? Does it make any noise?Reconnect back the battery and check.Thank you.
The power makes no noise. I reconnected the battery. I am still getting no response at all.
Can you press & hold the power button for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on and check? Can you press & release the power button quickly and repeated for about 15 times, and check? Can you try any other charger that fits the laptop, and check?Thank you.
When I held the power button down for 30 seconds, the yellow response light went on several times for a short period. I tried the second step. Nothing happened. I do not have another charger that will fit the netbook
I'm sorry, the symptom is a hardware issue, as there is no noise at all when the laptop is powered on. It looks like the motherboard is damaged, so it needs to be serviced by Acer:http://secure3.tx.acer.com/findsystem/FindSystem.aspx?title=Contact+Support&brand=AcerI know this is not the answer you want to hear, but unfortunately, in this case, it is a hardware issue.
