2 years old and I think I hear the fan.

The most common and likely cause to this type of problem are:

1)Some lint or dust has built up on your laptop's fan/inside the machine .It needs to be cleaned to make your machine work efficiently.There is also a probability that your fan is faulty and needs replacement.

2)The thermal grease between the processor and heat sink has become dried out .It needs to be reseated.

Please let me know if you are handy enough to carry out the repair process.I will give you the disassembly instructions and also cleaning procedures for your laptop's fan,heat sink etc..

Else, the best bet will be to take your laptop to a local repair shop to get it repaired at a less cost.
