Fungus in trunk pecan tree inside a hole in the trunk 5 Feet above above soil level white fungus
if it is fungus and looks like white mushroom within the hole in the trunk . The hole is 10 inches deep in the center of the trunk and 5 inches diameter, the mushrooms occupied all the hole and is sticking out of the trunk with decaying wood around it .at the end of the hole a sticky oil is there ..what is the recommend treatment in detail.

Hi a picture of the infected area would help me. Was the hole made from prunning of a large limb or was a limb that broke, do you remember if it was painted back then (something that should not be done)?
