My rental property is purchased by the city of ft wayne,in

Customer Question

My rental property is purchased by the city of ft wayne,in as it is in a flood zone. I have
a tenant staying there on a month to month basis, no closing date has been set up as the
funds are not in yet. My question is when i give her a thirty day notice to vacate the prop
erty can I go beyond the eviction to extend her from having to move out in case the
closing is not set yet for the property yet? In other words after 30 days I want to wait
another couple of weeks to evict her, can I do that?

You can indeed wait. You do not need to move to evict immediately.

Practically, you may also both agree on a vacate date on consent and enter into an agreement.
