If I've lost my job and provided a letter to the rental

Customer Question

If I've lost my job and provided a letter to the rental office, do the restrictions vis a vis notice on the 1st of the month and an additional two months of rent apply? If I've lost my job how am I supposed to pay that?

Hello and welcome. I am working on your answer and will be right back!

Legally, the job change does not change the terms of your lease.

However, the reality is you need some accomodation, and you should approach the LL and seek same. Often but not always they will agree or help you particularly if they can rent it out quickly and especially if they can rent it for more. Another option is to try to sublet.

Okay, well Morgan Properties seems to have a pretty rigid attitude towards people "breaking the lease"

You would seek an accomodation, explore sublet, explain financial hardship. They wont want to spend on lawyer fees in many instances and should be practical.
