MY DAUGHTER RENTED A ROOM IN A HOUSE IN YUMA AZ THREE MONTHS

Customer Question

MY DAUGHTER RENTED A ROOM IN A HOUSE IN YUMA AZ THREE MONTHS AGO. HER RENT HAS BEEN CURRENT THE LAST THREE MONTHS. THEY HAVE ASKED HER TO VACATE THE
PREMISES IN THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. THERE IS NO WRITTEN CONTRACT. ONLY A VERBAL
AGREEMENT. DOES AZ. LAW REQUIRE MORE THAN A WEEKS NOTICE TO VACATE?

Hello and welcome. I am working on your answer and will be right back!

Legally, she need not vacate. No basis for it. If landlord wants her cooperation, it should compensate at an amount acceptable to her. She can of course just refuse. If nothing in writing, still need a 30 day notice and court order, which takes months.
