Customer Question

I moved out of an apartment the end of April and today ; 8-8-2016 ; received a bill for over $1,300 dollars they say due to cigarette smoke damage. I left the apartment clean and new paint and carpet cleaning is done after each tenant. I have witnesses to the fact that the apartment was not in that bad a condition.
I have had my security deposit returned on three different leases since 2006 and two of those were from the same company that sent me this bill.
Is it me or does this seem to be a little excessive ?

Have they returned your deposit?

Did the itemize the $1300 bill?
