I have a rental property in Minnesota and the tenant left

Customer Question

I have a rental property in Minnesota and the tenant left several belongings at. They trashed the property and broke a lot of things. Can I sell their items to make up for some of the loss in the property?

You have a few options. You can make demand for damages and rent. You can sue the tenant. You can hold the property as collateral. You cannot sell unless the tenant consents, abandons property, or court approves it.
