My landlord signed an agreement with direct tv to supply basic

Customer Question

My landlord signed an agreement with direct tv to supply basic service to the apartments, and sent a letter to us saying we have to increase our rent $15.00 each month regardless. I have cable service and I am happy with it. can she make us pay more rent for something we don't have or want?

Thank you for your question. Please permit me to assist you with your concerns.
If I may ask, in your personal lease agreement, does it state that you must purchase the cable service from the landlord?
