The state is Georgia. I need the law that says whether or not a property manager is allowed to hold the rent from the tenant until it is due to the owner.
For example the rent is monthly and is due on the 1st of each month. If the tenant pays me, the property manager, on the 20th of the month (10 days early) must I pay the owner as soon as the check clears or am I to pay the owner on or after the 1st of the month?
I understood that in the case that the tenant pays one year in advance, I am to hold the funds and pay the owner each month as the rent would normally be due.
