I have changed the plugs, wires and coils on my 2005 KIA

Customer Question

I have changed the plugs, wires and coils on my 2005 KIA Sorento and I need to know if I have the proper wires connected to the proper plugs. On the plugs I have plug wire #1 connected to #5 and #2 connected to #6 and #3 connected to #4. Is that the correct sequence. I am getting a backfire through the throttle intake. Thank you----------------Dave

Hi,

To clarify, your vehicle is a 2005 kia Sorento correct? The Sorento didn't come in a 2.7l engine in that year model- only the 3.5. Would you double check the vehicle info for me?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I only know for sure that it is a 2005 Sorento with a V-6. I have been told that it might be a 2.7 by my friendly O' reilys. I checked the hood sticker and it does say 3.5, so it must be a 3.5.

Have I been forgotten?

Ok, that makes more sense. So here is the way the cylinders are labeled.

Expert:  Jared D replied 5 months ago.

You should be able to run the wires from the corresponding number on the coil to the cylinders as listed on this diagram.

Sorry, that thing is automated. Please ignore it. It drives me crazy that JA started doing the phone call nagging message.

Ok, sorry.
Expert:  Jared D replied 5 months ago.

1-4 go together, 2-5 together and 3- 6 together.
