It is likely that the inhibitor switch is your issue. It is the switch that tells the vehicle what gear the shifter is in. There is a service bulletin about this and you need to replace it. However if your vehicle is still in the 5 year 60,000 mile warranty it will be a free fix from the dealer. The switch is located on top of the transmission under the shift linkage, it is also called a transmission range switch. Hopefully this helps.
