2004 Kia Spectra: speedo and odometer..speed sensor x2..cluster 2x

Customer Question

I have a 2004 Kia Spectra - the speedo and odometer will work a short time then quit suddenly without any reason. I have replaced the speed sensor x2 to the speedo and have replaced the cluster 2x. Nothing has helped the problem. I will think its fixed and then randomly it stops again. What am I missing? What else can I check?

Has the ECM been tested I've seen where the signal is lost through the ECM .

No - how do you check it............but now something on the sensor signal is going to ground --------pullling it down??

Expert:  Cardoctor69 replied 4 years ago.
It would need to be sent out to be tested for about 100 dollars. The shift solenoid can be grounding out causing that issue .
