When I am trying to add gasoline the nozzle shuts off from back flow

Resolved Question:

I am having trouble putting gasoline into the tank. When I am trying to add gasoline the nozzle shuts off from back flow like the tank is full and I have only an eighth of a tank.

What year/make/model is your Kia? Is your check engine light on while driving?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
2002 Kia Optima SE. The check engine light is not on. Do not know if this could be related but the radio turns itself on and somtimes the blower motor does not work when the engine is started but comes on after awhile.

Your electrical problems are most likely due to a faulty ignition switch and are not related to the fuel filling problem.

The fuel filling problem is likely due to blockage in the two way valve or the evap canister. Both are near the fuel tank and are shown in the picture below. Inspect the lines going to the valve and to the canister before replacing either part. The fuel tank must vent through these lines and the canister when filling the tank. Also remove the filler neck and check for obstructions in the filler neck.

Both use the same setup at the tank. It does not matter.
