We have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we had some trouble with the engine stalling and not starting sometimes. Now it won't start at all

My husband replaced the computer, the MAP sensor, IAC sensor, cap and rotor. After replacing the computer, the started and ran ok for a day or two. Then the car would start and then stall right away. Now it does not start at all. We thought it might have something to do with the anti-theft system. Thinking we may need to reset alarm system.

Hello, does the engine turn when you try to start?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
engine cranks but doesn't start

Have you checked for spark at ignition coil or pulse at fuel injector?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
there is fuel from fuel rail
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
fuel pump changed

I dont think it is a fuel pump related issue. Since the computer has been replaced we need to check spark at spark plug cable and injector pulse?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
ok, have to check that tomorrow and get back to you

hi, we have spark to the distributor, but noticed the roter was cracked, replaced roter and it cracked when we tried to start the car

SO the rotor cracked twice?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
but the second time we used the old roter that was changed earlier and it did not fit, it cracked again

it sounds like you have a bad distributor if the shaft keeps breaking rotors.

Thanks again and please remember to rate me 5 stars now and keep
this link in case you need me again later on.
I don’t get credit for assisting you until you rate me
Ron

Did you have any more questions for me?

Thanks again, Ron

we already replaced the distributor cap and roter, how would we replace the distributor

The complete distributor has to be replaced. make sure you mark the rotor position before you pull it out though so you know where to put it back in.

Your distributor shaft is bent, that's why you have this problem.

Thanks again and please rate me 5 stars now. I'm ready to be rated:)
