Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site. the times it doesnt start do you know if the tach is showing rpms?

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

just checking in to see how its going

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
After I saw your "tach showing rpms" question, I knew you weren't the one I to help me solve my problem.
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

excuse me???? if the tach wasnt showing rpms that would me the crank sensor is bad, so what are you talking about????????

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

it was a question that you did not answer, so that we could continue the process of fixing your vehicle. apparently you are not familiar with this

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

the rpms will move up a bit while cranking, confirming the crank sensor operation. now what is it that you dont understand?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I had stated at the beginning that the engine won't turn over so the "tach thing" was redundant. Please disregard this whole discussion as I've gotten it fixed.
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

turning over means starting. cranking mean the engine cranking. so next time i would suggest writing the correct problem

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
You see in the area where I live in the USA the term "won't turn over" means the engines starter won't turn the crank shaft over.
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

in the automotive industry. cranking mean the engine is trying to start. turning ove means everything turned over and started, sorry for the mix up

any codes?

have you tested for power at the starter motor?

is there a red blinking light flashing on the dash?

if the security module fails or you have a dead key the jeep WILL NOT crank and will set codes (YOU NEED A SCAN TOOL to read ALL the codes)

the starter circuit is very basic on these and starter motors are still as common as they always were

BUT you need to determine if there is actually power getting there from the starter relay

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
As I stated back on Jan. 6th, at 09:06, I already have it fixed (without JA's help).
Expert:  bill replied 2 months ago.

then you should have closed the question.

i will for you so you don't have another expert attempt to help you

have a great new year
