Loss of power, Rpms won't go up and throttle body barely

Customer Question

Loss of power, Rpms won't go up and throttle body barely opens
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: 2007 jeep compass 2.4 2x4
JA: Are you fixing your Compass yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, I've pulled the throttle body off
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I need to know how to test the throttle body and isolate the problem, codes are P2110, P2118 & C21C. The C code came on a week before when it was accidentally knocked in reverse at 5mph. It cause a weird rattle by the oil pan, not by tyranny, and then went away after a week, right before the new codes. Don't know if it's related
JA: Do you have a scan tool to read the codes?

Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site

P2110 JEEP - Electronic Throttle Control - Forced Limited RPM Possible causes - Faulty Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) - Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) harness is open or shorted - Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) circuit poor electrical connection

P2118 JEEP - Electronic Throttle Control Motor Circuit Possible causes - Faulty Throttle Actuator Control Actuator - Throttle Actuator Control Actuator harness is open or shorted - Throttle Actuator Control Actuator circuit poor electrical connection

P2110 sets when PCM detected an error in the ETC Motor Driver or in the throttle position. You can try to clean the throttle body to see if that helps, if not monitor the voltage across the Dark Blue/Gray wire at pin 1 and the Dark Blue/Light Green wire at pin 4 during the actuator test. If B+ is present,
replace the throttle body.

I have the tools, but I haven't done enough wiring to know what you mean, need a "for dummies" step by step lol. Can I test the throttle body itself since it's out or what?
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

the throttle body has to be installed to test. and it has to be tested with a scan tool that reads live data.

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

if the ETC passes the test then we need to start looking at the wiring.
