Do you know if the pilot shaft bushing for a jeep t-15 trans

Customer Question

do you know if the pilot shaft bushing for a jeep t-15 trans is the same as the t-18 trans?
JA: What year is your Pilot?
Customer: it is a 1972 but I had to switch to a t-18 I believe is a 1973
JA: Are you fixing your Pilot yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: i had to switch to a t-18 4sd due to lack of parts for the t-15 which was ok so i purchased a rebuilt unit i had already installed clutch etc now in process of installing t-18 but it won't slip in already had a new pilot bushing in for a t15 wondering if that's the issue
JA: How many miles are on the clutch? Has it been slipping or sticking?
Customer: brand new
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no just wondering about the inside diameter of the bushing and if the t15 and t18 are the same or if i have to start over

Hello. Welcome to Just Answer. Please allow me to assist you. The T15 and T18 pilot bushings are not the same. They actually have different sizes over the years, some are 3/4". some are 17MM. You would do best to inside mike the the crank, and then outside mike the input shaft of the trans to get the correct one for your engine/trans combination.
