I need to find a hydraulic fan solenoid for my 2004 Jeep

Customer Question

I need to find a hydraulic fan solenoid for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Very expensive from dealer. Thoughts?
JA: Are you fixing your Grand Cherokee yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have a mechanic friend trying to get the Check Engine light to go off so I can pass my emissions test. He replaced the two rotted hydraulic lines, but the light comes back on saying it's the solenoid - the cooling fan is driving by hydraulic fluid from the power steering, weird setup only used for a few years.
JA: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?
Customer: Stays on.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, just where to find the part cheap. $400 at the dealer.

Hello and sorry for the delay!

Let me do some digging for you tomorrow and reply back in the morning.

Thank you for your patients.

The only thing I found on line is this part for $867.

The only other possible cause would be to get this part at your local junk yard for much cheaper, but then you run the risk of possibly having this part working corectly so it is a toss up.. and it is completley up to you.

Good luck!!

Thanks. ***** already knew about the online, dealer, and junk yard options. Had hoped you might know another way. Thanks anyway, but not much help this time.
