Customer Question

Battery fully charged today but no start or accessories
JA: Will the headlights turn on? Is the battery fully charged?
Customer: yes battery is fully charged, didnt check lights but no warning for key in ignition
JA: What is the model/year of your Jeep?
Customer: 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited 2WD
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Possibly, just charged battery. Battery bought 3/15, this is a spare vehicle that is not driven often. Hadn't been cranked in a couple of months.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: I have had an intermittent problem with electrical system, interior lights coming on for no reason and the speedometer has not worked in a couple of years. Could be a computer problem.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are many things that could be causing the problem. It may be as simple as a poor battery connection, it could be a cable issue, power distribution, possibly a bad ignition switch or broken switch actuator pin.

If the problem arose after the vehicle sat for an extended period that makes a dead battery the most likely cause. How did you determine the battery is good?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Placed the battery on a charger to charge it to 100%.

You're relying on the charger to tell you that though? Does it have a load tester and reports cold cranking amps?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Took battery to Autozone, it was almost dead. They charged it and checked for bad cell. Said bathere was fine. Installed it again and now have lights, warning bells and accessories but will not start. No noise from starter at all.
