Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

A SKREEM key won't usually survive being submerged. If the key was dropped in the water and now will not work then it has most likely failed. The engine controller has to receive a message from the wireless control module that the key has been validated. If it doesn't then the engine will start and die three times and then lock the starter out.

Is this what happened when you tried to start it?
