Hello, my name is***** remove front oxygen sensor from exhaust and let me know if it runs better, you may have a clogged catalytic converter. Let me know, thanks.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Exhaust is disconnected in front of the cat no change forgot to mention that.
Expert:  Dan replied 4 months ago.

Did problem start out of nowhere? Have you tried checking diagnostic codes? thanks.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Quit running. Had a cam sensor code. Forget the number . Replaced that and distributor. Finally got to run but running the way it is now.
Expert:  Dan replied 4 months ago.

Have you tried checking codes again? If not, do it and let me know what they are. You can check code by turning key on-off-on-off-on and it should be displayed on odometer. Thanks.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
No codes in it i have access to code reader

Here are instructions to install distributor so you can make sure it was installed correctly. If so, next thing I'd do is check timing chain. Let me know how it goes or if you run into questions, thanks.

Where is it backfiring from?

Is it a constant backfire related engine speed?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
It back fires out the exhaust and threw the throttle body. Engine speed is only at idle. If you try to give it gas it just stalls out.

Do you have a compression gauge?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.

Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 4 months ago.

Let's do a static compression test and go from there.

Fairly new black and two were just barely damp.
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 4 months ago.

Are you able to upload a picture showing the plug wires at the distributor and plugs?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I can't right now but the fireing order is right 1342
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 4 months ago.

Where is the number 1 wire on the cap?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
4 o'clock
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 4 months ago.

As viewed from the front? That's where the number 4 wire would be. As viewed from the front number 1 should be at 9:00 and the rotor turns clockwise.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I was looking at the distributor from the side. Looking from the front it would be like 7 o'clock.
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 4 months ago.

That's where the number 2 wire would be.
