Customer Question

I have a jeep 2003, my car over heated due to a waterpump. I it replaced, new radiator ( slight crack), intake vac hoses (old). when I start it in the morning, it has a put-put-put sound, running rough. The engine light comes on. Thurn the jeep off, the sound goes away, rides smoothe , but the light is on. the mechanic doesn't know what it could be. can you help ?

Hi, I’m Ron and I’ll be helping you today.
Before we get started though, Please understand that I don't know
your skill level or tools you have to assist us. Also understand that
I can't see, smell, hear, or touch the vehicle either, so patience is
appreciated. JA is a great Q/A site, but it does NOT replace a
repair shop.
My goal is to make you happy and get a great rating in return for
my time. Sometimes I have to give you bad news that I know you
didn’t want to hear, so please don’t shoot the messenger.

The first thing do do is get the code read by either a code reader, or preferably a scan tool that gives data too. This way we will have better direction of your problem. Let me know.

Thanks, Ron

ok, so it reads coil 6. but, the mechanic just replaced that coil. he said he also hears air

Okay. then he needs to smoke the intake for leaks with a smoke machine.

Thanks again, and please don't forget to rate me and keep this link in case you need me again later on.
