Hello, my name is***** the check engine light on? Has anything been replaced yet? Thanks.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
check engine light goes on and off, nothing has been replaced yet.has 140,000 on engine.i am decent mechanic, but not savvy to the technical details involved.had 4 vehicles with this engine, never ran into this problem.

Do you know what diagnostic codes you are getting on Jeep? Is check engine light on right now? Thanks.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
last time i drve it,yes.I have no diagnostic reader to know the codes, that is why i came to you.jut wanted to know any possible reasons.am willing to replace any parts needed.

Based off symptom it sounds like a problem with the throttle position sensor but lets check codes before replacing anything. Next time light comes on you can turn key on-off-on-off-on within 5 seconds and code should be displayed on odometer. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions, thanks.
