It will not turn over...new battery and solenoid! : 125000 :

Customer Question

It will not turn over...new battery and solenoid!
JA: How many miles are on the car? Will the battery hold a charge?
Customer: 125000
JA: Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: Jeep sat for 6 months, first start, it would not spin the starter, a few key turns on and off and on...,etc, it finally spun over....parked it,now, same thing. I bypassed the solenoid with a jumper and it clicks. wigggled all of the relays in the power distribution box for started...all terminals bright and clean too!!
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: yes
JA: Great! What have you tried so far?
Customer: I thought maybe a dead spot or corrosion in the starter motor from sitting so long, so, was going to try to drop the starter and spin it by hand, but, wanted to do some research here first
JA: Is there anything else the Jeep Mechanic should be aware of about your Jeep?
Customer: not really, otherwise in tipo top shape
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Jeep Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Welcome,

I have been a professional master mechanic for over 35 years and am happy to help you with this.

It sure does sound like a hot spot in the starter to me as well.

If you have a volt meter we can test it. Le me know.

Also what year and model is your jeep
