Customer Question

I believe it's leaking transmission fluid. After pulling my boat, it felt like the transmission was slipping. And when I parked it for two days there was an oil like fluid on the pavement under the front axle.
JA: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix with Jeep. The Jeep Mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: Just that the transmission slips and I have fluid on the ground and it's not motor oil.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: Yes
JA: Great! What have you tried so far?
Customer: I just discovered the leak and I do not have an owners manual so I bo not know what type of transmission fluid to add
JA: Dealing with a manual transmission can be a bit tricky. Fortunately, the mechanics we work with have tons of experience dealing with all kinds of transmissions. Is there anything else the Jeep Mechanic should be aware of about your Jeep?
Customer: Yes it has a 4.7 v 8 and it's an automatic with a 170000 on it.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Jeep Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.
