Is the check engine light on steady or blinking on and off?
Does it matter whether the engine is cold or warmed up when this happens?
Does it idle smoothly when stopped at a light/sitting still?
When it shuts off, does it start back quickly?
Is it hard to start when engine is cold or when the engine is warmed up?
Please remember that I am not there to test drive it or otherwise inspect it and therefore rely on you to provide as much detail as possible.
Ok, again, is the check engine light on?
Ok, what you describe is either an air intake leak, sticking throttle body, or possible fuel delivery issue. Are you wanting to try to diagnose yourself which it is? If so, you will need a can of carb cleaner, throttle body cleaner, can of SeaFoam, and fuel pressure gage. If you want to diagnose the problem at this stage, let me know and I will post what you need to do
