Good morning and welcome to JustAnswer!!
The very first step in repairing this issue will be to see what codes are in the TCM(Transmissison Control Module), then run the diagnostics for the codes...
Can you read them and post them here?
You will need a scantool to connect to the plug in under the dash and read the codes...
Ok thanks.. Post the codes here when you get them.
hello, Let me see if I can be of some help. Is the transmission fluid level full and look ok or is it low or look black or smell burnt?
ok so it has its normal gears until it gets hot then it acts like it is in a lower gear range/ Does it still have reverse?
Ah the 42rle, if your fluid level is clean and at spec, with no overheating issues, I would check all fuses, Power wires and charging voltage if okay I would replace the TCM clear codes and do a relearn. But this want help with the crank sensor and thermostat codes replace the crank sensor and thermostat clear codes and retest.
